BOXER #239 Like a Rolling Stone (of Death)
Once upon a time you hashed so fine
Threw the hares a dime in your prime, didn’t you?

About having to be scrounging your next Beeeeeeeer.
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone.
Everyone who joins hash initially is a complete unknown. A loser with no direction or purpose in life, they wander aimlessly confused and looking for hash marks without a hash name or identity.
Eventually, after thoroughly proving and committing themselves to hash, they will earn a hash name and become enshrined as a true blue hasher for all of time.
Genghis Khan, a notorious tyrant of history is said to have led to the killings of over 40 million people in his conquests of modern day Russia, China, Iraq, Korea, Eastern Europe and India. While records are murky, it is said that between 1206 and 1226 Genghis Khan likely impregnated over 1000 women in his vast array of concubines.
With all of these adventurous escapades it is interesting to wonder what Genghis Khan’s hash name would have been.
Unfortunately Genghis Khan was never fortunate enough to become a hasher, he was never able to drink a luke warm Yanjing beer and sing songs on the Boxer Bus with provocative lyrics. He never got to run around Beijing looking for chalk marks, finding himself wandering around the hutongs asking for a pin in the group chat.
If Genghis Khan had found the camaraderie of Beijing Hash perhaps he would have done a little bit less raping and pillaging and a bit more drinking and singing.
While Genghis Khan never came to Beijing Boxer Hash, you, the person reading this write-up can!
From May 30th – June 1stBeijing Hash House Harriers is hosting the first ever Northern Alliance Hash, which includes Beijing Boxer Run #239 in the mountains of Miyun.
Sign-Up for Beijing Boxer for Beer, Shitty Trails, and hopefully a bit less blood than an ancient Mongol conquest.

The Beijing boxer hash is an off-road running hash going out to the hills around Beijing once/twice a month. We usually aim for the second/third Saturday of each month, but may vary depending on the hares’ availability and other variable factors we have zero control over. Be prepared for variable weather conditions: snow, ice, heatwave, storms.
We’re a running hash. It’s ok to walk but not to lallygag. Keep moving… Heart attacks are not permitted. As we are out on mountain trails, it’s easy to get lost. Please bring a phone with you! We may or may not send a search party looking for you. If we do, chances are it will consist primarily of rabid dogs and hungry wolves. That being said, we are glad to have you join us and hope you enjoy a great day! (by the way, no you won’t be back for your important dinner date bring them along instead)
