There are opportunities we are all faced within our lives that are far greater than ourselves.  Opportunities that, for better or worse , could change everything for you in one single moment.  Matt Damon saw one of these opportunities when he starred in the 2016 film “The Great Wall” and changed cinematic history forever.

The film tells the story of European missionaries traveling to China in search of the secrets of gun powder.   While initially optimistic their hopes are quickly dashed when their team is attacked by monsters and all but two are killed.  The remaining two missionaries are then taken prisoner by a group called the “Nameless Order” .  The Nameless Order exists to combat alien monsters called Tao Tie(饕餮), which arrived from a meteorite and attack once every sixty years.  From the Great Wall the Nameless Order is forced to defend and battle the Tao Tie(饕餮).

The film examines how it requires community, compromise, and leadership to overcome life’s biggest obstacles and how hoardes of blood thirsty Aliens coming to kill you can be defeated with magnets.

The film went on to become a classic film, beloved by all, winning Matt Damon 15 Academy awards and praise from critics worldwide.

Matt Damon saw a time in history when the world needed answers, Matt Damon saw a story that needed telling and put it to screen.

Today you are faced with a similar opportunity.  On Boxer #206 we are heading to the same Great Wall ravaged by Aliens and once protected by the Nameless Order.  We will use, not arrows and swords, but beer to defend ourselves from the dark and evil spirits around us.

We will hike along the wall carrying with us a bigger purpose than just ourselves, in search of one thing, flour marks.

So come join us and follow your destiny to Boxer #206.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
***

The Beijing boxer hash is an off-road running hash going out to the hills around Beijing once a month. We usually aim for the second Saturday of each month, but may vary depending on the hares’ availability and other variable factors we have zero control over. Be prepared for variable weather conditions: snow, ice, heatwave, storms.

We’re a running hash. It’s ok to walk but not to lallygag. Keep moving… Heart attacks are not permitted. As we are out on mountain trails, it’s easy to get lost. Please bring a phone with you! We may or may not send a search party looking for you. If we do, chances are it will consist primarily of rabid dogs and hungry wolves. That being said, we are glad to have you join us and hope you enjoy a great day! (by the way, no you won’t be back for your important dinner date bring them along instead)
