About BeijingHHH

eijing Hash House Harriers (founded by Brian "Ewor" Rowe in 1979, briefly closed and opened again by Clint Halloran in 1982) is a mixed hash that runs every week without fail. Hash attendance varies weather depending from 25-50, who cares though? You're going to get a good run and more than enough food and beer. We are a friendly, social, beer motivated running club. Our only interest is to have as much fun as possible that can be squeezed into a Sunday afternoon. Runs are on Sundays and our Hash bar is Paddy O'Sheas on Dongzhemenwei Dajie across from the Canadian Embassy. You are welcome to come to the bar before the run for drink specials and food. The run start location is listed here and on our website and will usually begin at 2pm in the winter and 3pm the rest of the year (start times for special runs can vary from noon to 4pm). Runs are usually about an hour long and between 8-10km and can be in-town runs (get there by car/taxi convoy) or out-of-town runs (by organized bus). The cost is usually 60 yuan (about 8 USD) which gets you somewhere to run, walk or trash (be it water, sand or mud!!), someone to talk to, someone to persecute, lots of off key singing all the beer you can drink plus all the food you can eat at the hash restaurant for the day. However, the Beijing hash house harriers have one rule and that is that there are no rules and the RA is always right!

The big St. Patrick's Day Run. The one run of the year when massive pre-run hangovers are not just okay, but encouraged and expected. "It's too early for a beer," said no Irishman ever. Wear green and help us drive the snakes out of Sanlitun (except for Dickmocracy, Sausage Party, etc.). Sponsored by: [list type="icon-check-empty"] Hares: Roadkill O'Leary, Bjorn Murphy, [...]

Pickle Boy’s Money Paradox reveals money is to maintain basic living and award those who contribute to human improvement. But many people regard money as the ultimate goal with which they show contempt for other values, such as artistic talent, love, health, conscience, integrity, wisdom, peace, etc, even making money by hook or crook or by hurting others. Because they [...]

Spring is in the air in Beijing! Flowers are blooming, the days are warm and sunny, and the clear blue skies are enough to make any old-time Beijing Hasher think twice. Speaking of twice, this week’s Hash might or might not explore an area of the city that is coincidentally similar to the Full Moon Hash.   But as [...]

That's right, it's International Women's Day! (Or Frauen Tag, if you insist on being German) From its earliest beginnings as a socialist political event in 1909 New York, through being declared a national holiday in the Soviet Union shortly before the end of World War One, Women's Day has had a long and messy history that I won't go into [...]

4 things you can do to cheer up according to neuroscience. Getting your brain’s attention; dark emotion actually must be named to defuse; you’re the decider; the power of touch. Zeigarnik effect states that people remember uncompleted or interrupted tasks better than completed tasks. The celebration circle has got along the greater half by all the beef to the heels [...]
