Xiamen is a beautiful city in coastal Fujian and the home hash of legendary hasher Bearded Clam, who ran his first hash in flip-flops there way back in 2010. There is no group organisation this year, but here are some options.
Transport from Beijing
Air tickets for Xiamen are around 900 RMB each direction, plus ~200 tax. You can book on qunar.com and ctrip.com. Airlines with direct flights include China Southern, China United, China Eastern, Capital Airlines and Xiamen Airlines. Travel time is around 2.5-3 hours each direction plus airport hassles.
Trains get a bit harder. The direct Beijing – Xiamen train has been cancelled, so most tickets now have to change in Fuzhou or Shanghai. Prices range from 322 each direction with travel time around 24 hours to 830 each direction with travel time 14.5 hours. Book at a train ticket agent or online.
