One sunny afternoon in early December, a gaggle of drunken hashers stumbled out of the East Hotel in Lido. In high spirits from a three hour free-flow brunch celebrating a hashy birthday, they thirsted for more adventure and, more importantly, more beer.
Combining their collective nine brain cells, suggestions flowed and options were weighed. One wise suggestion stood out amongst all: let’s just stand outside 7-Eleven and drink beer! Thus, the inaugural Bar Iver H3 run was born.
What followed was an impromptu hash trail for the ages along the Ba River from convenience store to convenience store, cementing Bar Iver H3’s status in Beijing hashtory and lore.
This time we invite all of you to join us on the second ever Bar Iver H3 Run!
The trail will take you along the scenic Ba River, around the foreigner-favourite Lido area, into leafy parks, and with beer stops at northeastern Chaoyang’s finest convenience stores.
What is the Bar Iver H3, you ask? Aaaaas we know (as we know), it is a hash trail that can only occur on a hashy birthday, and needs to be along the Ba River in Beijing, with at least one beer stop at a 7-Eleven. And no, Bar Iver is not just a misspelling of Ba River…
Hash rumour has it, there even exists a secret, exclusive Bar Iver H3 hash song…
