A very quick introduction to an amazing turn of events, and I need your help!
I was challenged by my friends at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to raise $50,000 towards their amazing work. I told them 69 is more fun! (seriously, I really did) and thus the challenge began.
I am going balls to the wall and pulling out all the stops for the next 10 weeks to raise $69,000 to directly support patients with blood cancers, to fund advocacy, and to underwrite life-saving research. Every one of the current treatments for the whole range of blood cancers was developed with funding from the LLS. Together, we will contribute $69K to continue that work! I am writing to you because you are my hasher friends that travel frequently and/or live far and wide. I am asking you to spread the word throughout your range of influence and help make the BLOOD ON TRAIL campaign epic.
Here is what I ask:
- Spread the word. If all of us reach out to all the kennels with whom we have connections, we will have covered much of the world. That’s just freaking amazing when you think about it. Then follow up, keep me in the loop so I can follow up, too.
- Commit to lay a trail, or to organize one, in your usual kennel(s) as a fundraiser for LLS before the campaign deadline, which is in 10 weeks. I will provide logistical information on how to submit the funds so they count toward this goal.
- Submit the funds to LLS (I’ll let you know how) by 5pm on May 8.
It’s going to be awesome! And it gets even better even better–Lots of people want to help, so when you tell folks it is an event benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, there’s no end to the things that they might want to contribute. Get someone to donate the beer, maybe someone else wants to donate some food or some prizes for a drawing. Have a pool tournament, have a dance, make it a party. Do something that you enjoy doing. Have a blast. Get your friends to do it with you. Oh, and while you’re having all that fun, you’ll be saving lives!
Shoot me a quick reply to let me know you’re in, then spread the word. Let’s see how fast this thing can make it around the world.
Love you all,
