INTERHASH NEWSLETER DECEMBER 2015

HHHiInterhashers,

Lots of things have been happening since we last spoke.

Here is our Bali Interhash 2016 E-Newsletter update of the events of October and November from Sunny Bali.

We have just had a great Pan Indo event with 2000 hashers from all over South East Asia and beyond heading to Pandaan near Surabaya where the event was brilliantly hosted by the ‘Palm Family’.
Our IH16 team were at IAH 2015 Portland and a big thank you to Lofty, Yoadrian and Midget Molester for being there to look after things.

We love our volcanoes, and if you don’t like one, we have others.
Lombok’s Rinjani Volcano has been disrupting flights in and out of Bali lately, but seems to have settled down a little with the beginning of the November rains.
All flights are back to normal, however volcanos are very unpredictable, so who can tell.

On the subject of getting to Bali and into Indonesia in general there is some good news for you.

 IH2016 HQ

The IH2016 HQ is the Grand Bali Beach in Sanur, a 20 minute drive from the airport.
The hotel has a large registration area and lots of swimming pools so bring you bathing costume as you will be able to have a swim after the runs. The hotel also has a great beach bar which I know will be very popular. As in Borobudur we have negotiated hasher friendly prices on drinks.
There is plenty of room outside the hotel for the buses to the runs so you won’t have to walk far.

With regards to the stage party venue, you will find that directly in front of the hotel beachside.

IH Bazaar

There will be a bazaar area within the hotel grounds and the hotel are charging us US$60 per booth for the whole week of the event (Tuesday to Monday). We can organize a booth for you with the hotel.

Old Farts Stroll

Before he passed away KuntFoo asked me to please repeat at IH2016 the Old Farts Run we did during the Asia Pacific hash in Bali in 2014 as he had enjoyed it so much. So true to my word we will have ‘KuntFoo’s Old Farts Run’ in his memory. That beer stroll will be on the Sunday 22nd May at 3pm around Sanur and there will be numerous beer stops. Ask for more info onIH16events@yahoo.com

‘The General’s Full Moon Run’

The Monday after the IH weekend if you are still in Bali there will be a Full Moon Run in memory of our dearly departed hasher ‘The General’.
You will be able to register for this run when you arrive in Bali.
Run fee will include circle beer, softies and a t-shirt.
For more info and to show your interest write to IH16events@yahoo.com

Other runs and gatherings are being organized by Hamersley (Friday 20th) and the Brussels attendees with Higgins on the 23rd May. If you have any Pre or Post lubes you would like us to advertise on our website then please write to IH16events@yahoo.com

For those hashers interested in the Komodo Tour, the 2 dates are: 23rd and 24th May.

The Down Down Competition

Distinguished Hashers ‘The Penguin’ and ‘Der Tulip Eater’ are in Bali at present and have expressed their interest in hosting the Down Down Competition as they have wonderfully presented in the pastwith Garfield, Mr. Mgoo, Chesty and  Froggy to co-officiate as they did so wonderfully in Borobudur.
The wooden female Down Down trophy (a woman’s bust) sits in my house much to the amusement of my son and the Men’s Down Down trophy (a giant wooden penis) is still in Magelang and will be shipped (very carefully) to Bali. TheHarriettes drinking vessel (a pewter mug, affectionately named the Pussy mug) was lovingly polished and restored and returned to its rightful owner, the Bangkok Hash House Harriettes.  I have been told by good sources that it will be brought down to Bali by our hash friends from Bangkok HHH.
The Men’s Pewter mug will be tracked down, it’s either in Jakarta or Magelang, we will find it before the event don’t worry.
So girls and boys if you want to pre register for this event then email us onIH16events@yahoo.com.
We already have a number of hashers (male & female) who have already registered.

Hash Acts

The wonderfully entertaining Hamersley HHHand our friends from Kuching HHHhave already put their names down and we are looking for more acts. Email us onIH16events@yahoo.com

Other entertainment

To begin most of the evenings we will feature some nice cultural dances and acts. We have the Hard Rock Bali band we used at Borobudur that everyone enjoyed and some surprise stage dance groups to spice up the night.
As another nod to Bali Interhash 1988, we have an idea to burn an Ogoh Ogoh (paper mache statue) as it’s also very Balinese and very nice to watch.

At Asia Pacific Hash in Bali we broke the Guinness book of World Records for the most masseurs ever gathered together in one place, we are planning to do something but we are keeping it a surprise, but it will be something that hashers can participate in.
The President is still penciled in to open the event, so we are still thinking of a Presidents run. The registration for this run may be a bit last minute as the President’s schedule changes by the day.

Hash Pubs

The pubs are waiting and the Bintang is on ice.
We have some great hasher friendly pubs for you check out. They will be listed in the Magazine.
The IH Goodies

I have actually held thebackpack and it’s a tough top quality animal with all the right pouches and compartments and will include souvenirs such as two hardy T-shirts, Sarong, Mug, Nail Clippers in the shape of a foot (everyone needs one of them!) Flip Flops (Sandals) Patch and a carry friendly IH magazine.

Other Stuff

We will strive to have the IH16 Magazine online for you at least one month before IH2016 so you can read all you need to know about the event before you leave home. Want to write an article for the mag then email us atIH16events@yahoo.com.
To give you an idea of what you’re in for take a look at the Facebook page ‘Borobudur Interhash After the Event photos’.Lots of great photos on there, you may even be in some of them!
