Badachu Park, Shijingshan • 石景山，八大处公园
For centuries, pilgrims have made their way into the hills of Badachu — 八大处, the “Eight Great Sites” — in search of peace, wisdom, enlightenment, and perhaps a little spiritual clarity.
Naturally, the Beijing Boxer Hash has decided to go there looking for beer.
For Boxer #253, we’re heading west to Shijingshan and Badachu Park (石景山，八大处公园), trading Beijing’s concrete jungle for mountain trails, temple roofs, shady forests, steep climbs, and whatever devious route the hares have decided counts as a sensible Saturday outing.
There will be climbing.
There will be wrong turns.
There will be accusations against the hares.
And, eventually, there will be beer.
Badachu may be famous for its Eight Great Sites, but this Boxer has a far more achievable spiritual goal:
