The Boxer Bash – Rails, Ridges & River Revival / BOXER #242
Strap on your trail shoes, dust off your sense of adventure, and prime your thirst, Beijing! The Beijing Hash House Harriers (BJ Boxer – a “Drinking Club with a Hiking Problem” since forever) are back with a cracker of a summer run: The Boxer Bash!
Forget boring sidewalks! This isn’t your grandma’s nature stroll. We’re serving up a proper Hash adventure designed to get you gloriously sweaty, slightly lost (it’s tradition!), and ready for a legendary cool-down:
1. 🚂 All Aboard the Scenic (Slightly Rusty) Express: We kick things off with a unique hike along disused railway line. Feel the history underfoot as you trek where trains once rumbled, surrounded by encroaching nature. Its industrial charm meets wilderness!
2. ⛰️ Summit Seeker’s Delight: From the rails, we ascend! Prepare for a solid climb up the mountain trails. Your calves will protest, but the breathtaking panoramic views of Beijing’s outskirts from the top will be your ultimate reward. Camera phones at the ready!
3. 🌳 Forest Bathing (Boxer Style): We plunge into the cool, shaded embrace of the forest. Navigate winding paths, dodge branches (maybe), and breathe in that sweet, earthy pine scent. It’s the perfect green escape from the urban grind.
4. 🏊♀️ The Grand Finale: River Revival! Behold the glorious payoff! We finish right beside a crystal-clear river flowing near the iconic Beijing Summer Palace. Shed those sweaty threads (swimwear recommended!) and dive into the refreshing, cool water. Float, splash, laugh, and wash away the trail dust. Pure, unadulterated bliss!
It`s shiggy, long sleeves and long pants are recommended, as no bleeding is allowed on boxer trail.
Tail is not Dog friendly.

The Beijing boxer hash is an off-road running hash going out to the hills around Beijing once/twice a month. We usually aim for the second/third Saturday of each month, but may vary depending on the hares’ availability and other variable factors we have zero control over. Be prepared for variable weather conditions: snow, ice, heatwave, storms.
We’re a running hash. It’s ok to walk but not to lallygag. Keep moving… Heart attacks are not permitted. As we are out on mountain trails, it’s easy to get lost. Please bring a phone with you! We may or may not send a search party looking for you. If we do, chances are it will consist primarily of rabid dogs and hungry wolves. That being said, we are glad to have you join us and hope you enjoy a great day! (by the way, no you won’t be back for your important dinner date bring them along instead)
Another Mountain Bush Pool Hash BOXER #242
There’s nothing better than bush, lots and lots of bush. At least that’s what the Hares had to tell themselves as they spent an afternoon scouting the trail and shaving some shiggy-filled paths through and down the mountainside with their big, long sticks.
Boy were the Virgin Hares, Just Kevin and Just Mike, (they’re not actually the hares) really gung-ho about waving and swinging their wood for all the world to see! Limp Fish Dick was jealous at how stiff they seemed.
Unfortunately, the Hares got pricked from behind more than once from the mountain’s bush, sacrificing their bodies so you, their fellow hashers, could avoid some compromising positions on trail. Cannot do anything about the Boxer Bus, though…
The whole time the hares were jungle exploring through the mountain’s thick bush, they longingly thought of the refreshing Miyun pool at the trail’s end. Given its summer in Beijing, a nice swim is the best remedy for moist hashing in temperatures that will get you sweatier than a pornstar in a sauna. Pure ecstasy!
Also, if you like this shiggy trail, you can always thank Shitposter_69 for pioneering the trail in years past :P.
Also, sadly, it’s LFD’s last Boxer Hash in Beijing, as he’s being sent off to greener pastures soon. So, sign up now for the August Boxer if you wish to make him drink during the debaucherous pool party that will follow a moist, bushy summer trail.

About the tickets:
The tickets will be two parts:
Buy one cost 50 (normaly it`s 60, they will avoid the Dazhongdianping session for us) for group ticket from the main gate, you`ll go into theFlower world Park(人间花海）.
Keep going to the very end of the park, you`ll findthe pool and the water amusement park, here you need to buy another ticket cost 60 (already talked to their manager, no discount here) for both the pool and the amusement park, adults can play in the amusement park too, and we checked, no weight restrictions.
Tell the main gate we are a group, can save 10 kuai, and we need to buy the ticket one by one. So please follow the hares, keep in line for the tickets.
And no, youcannot buy only the ticket for the pool.
Dog friendly?
The bus, the restaurant, the walking trail and the Flower world park are all dog friendly, the pool is not. And from last year, the hot concrete road is also not dog friendly, give your dogs shoes if they need to walk on the road.
